Earth Angels

Yesterday, 2/27, was my birthday. First of all, I want to say:
Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes, videos, pictures and messages! I appreciate them so much!! Love, hugs and blessings to you always! ♥♥♥♥♥
Are you an Earth Angel? In Doreen Virtue's wonderful little book, titled Realms of the Earth Angels, she explains how there is a special group of beings who have incarnated at this time and who are helping to advance humanity and the planet.

Mer-Angel by Josephine Wall
I'm a Mer-Angel. Merpeople must live near bodies of water (lakes, rivers, oceans, etc.) to feel happy and healthy. Merpeople report feeling cold easily, they like warmer climates. Merpeople seem to be very picky about what kind of water they drink. Merangels have a strong research interest in Atlantis and Lemuria. Mystic Angels are half Incarnated Angels/half Wise Ones. They aren't shy in front of audiences unlike Incarnated Angels, they are good teachers and speakers, and are not afraid to acknowledge the shadow side of life.

Josephine Wall describes her vision of a Mer-Angel (part mermaid, part Angel) like this:
This mythical creature is in a state of blissful repose as waterfalls cascade from her hair into a watery world of lily trees and river horses, galloping free down flowery slopes. The quiet beauty of the moment and the company of her own thoughts bring her comfort and a sense of peace.

Angel Signs - Flowers Heaven Scent

Mary with a rose
Flowers have spoken to me more than I can tell in written words. They are the hieroglyphics of angels, loved by all men for the beauty of the character, though few can decipher even fragments of their meaning.

~Lydia M. Child

When we connect with the angels we can sometimes smell the scent of flowers as a sign that the angels are nearby. In fact, everything has a smell which we can receive if our senses are finely tuned enough. For instance, anger smells acrid, whereas jealousy has an highly acidic smell and hatred smells putrid. Clarity smells clean, like freshly washed clothes, and peace smells like a meadow in the spring.

The unexplained scent of flowers is probably the most frequent sign the angels send us. Our sense of smell is the sense least likely to be blocked by mental constraints. Because it doesn't pass through our logical, analytical brain but is received straight away in the instinctive part of our brain, we do not edit the sensory information the way we may restrict other senses. Often, Mother Mary is also first sensed by the presence of the smell of roses.

Angels and Rainbows

I love this song. With all its references to rainbow colors it reminds me of angels. Rainbows are magical. When you are consciously connecting with the angel realms and are searching for an angelic connection or a sign from your angels then often a rainbow seems to appear out of nowhere. How does a rainbow make you feel? In awe? Mesmerized? Angels have powerful means for angelic symbol communications and if you open yourself up to the beauty of their angel symbols then you will start to become aware, deep inside, of the inner peace, joy and radiant beauty that is at the essence of your heart and soul.

SHE'S A RAINBOW
(Mick Jagger/Keith Richards)

She comes in colors everywhere;
She combs her hair
She's like a rainbow
Coming colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors
She comes in colors everywhere
She combs her hair
She's like a rainbow
Coming colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors

Have you seen her dressed in blue?
See the sky in front of you
And her face is like a sail
Speck of white so fair and pale

Have you seen the lady fairer?
She comes in colors everywhere;
She combs her hair
She's like a rainbow
Coming colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors

Have you seen her all in gold?
Like a queen in days of old
She shoots colors all around
Like a sunset going down
Have you seen the lady fairer?

She comes in colors everywhere;
She combs her hair
She's like a rainbow
Coming colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors

She's like a rainbow
Coming colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors

Snow and Archangel Gabriel

Archangel Gabriel in St. Pancras, London
It's snowing outside! For the first time in weeks. I just love sitting here and watching the snowflakes whirling about in the air and then covering everything with a soft, pure blanket of snow.

It somehow makes everything appear shiny and new - and very peaceful.

Snow always reminds me of Archangel Gabriel. Gabriel's aura color is white and his special area is purity, clarity and harmony. I often use Snow Quartz (a milky white variety of quartz) or white pearls to connect with Archangel Gabriel.

Although Archangel Raphael is the angel who I have the strongest bond with and who appears most prominently in my life (to the extent that my younger son chose Raphael as his middle name when I was pregnant with him) at night, in my dream life, I always go to Gabriel's retreat in the etheric above Mount Shasta in California to be taught there.

In my book "The Tao of Mermaids" I also talk about how much I love pearls, and how both me and my younger son (who was born at home in water) connect strongly to the water element (which Gabriel oversees).

What's My Number?

So, today is 2 22 2011 and I just saved a draft of my new book on soul mates and relationships. Word total 1313.

Is anyone else experiencing this acceleration and amplification (or a heightened acknowledgment) of number sequences and what they might mean?

It's fascinating but it sometimes feels like I can't keep up and I might miss the message. I know I will keep getting it until I understand exactly...

Meanwhile, I'm having fun with the book. The other night, I composed over half of it in my head. I have all 12 chapters and their titles. It's all there in my head, now it just needs to be structured onto paper (or screen).

Now, if only I could type as fast as I can think.

Today's Numerological Reminder

Today's date is Feb 21, 2011, which in Angel Numbers is 2212011 = three 2's and three 1's encircling a 0 (Source/God) -- a very powerful reminder to stay positive, keep your eyes on the highest and keep the faith.

My New Book on Soul Mates and Soul Connections

So, I'm writing a new book. This time, I've been guided by the angels to write about love, soul mates and relationships.

It's 2011, the Year of the Rabbit and the year we learn through relationships. Last year, 2010, was the Year of the Tiger, and was more about soul purpose as expressed through our career and finding our place or "mission" in life. This year 2011 is so exciting because we will learn and evolve in our personal relationships.

The concept of soul connection is embedded in our culture and this is evident when we look at fairy tales and myths, which depict a search for wholeness; this archetype is illustrated by the prince seeking Cinderella or waking the sleeping princess/beauty, the archetypal feminine. These stories may be traced further back, almost 5,000 years to the legend of the Egyptian Gods Isis and Osiris.

These male and female deities were brother and sister and also husband and wife. Emerging from the womb as twins, they became beloved companions who could not be separated, even by death. When Osiris’ jealous brother, Set, kidnapped and killed him, Isis, his sister, lover, wife, was able to merge with the soul of her husband and conceive a god-child, Horus.

Imagine the power of this love and commitment. Many people long for a sense of soul connection, unity with others, purpose and direction. We are best off when we look for the person who helps us be a better person. Look at your values, set an ideal for yourself, and have a sense of your life’s direction, where you want it to go.

The old way is to go out and look for the "right person". The new way is to stop searching and start attracting. It worked for me and it will work for you too! I will show you how to do this in my book.

I will also describe the difference between soul mates and twin flames and the different soul purpose that brings them together.

I am so excited about this new project given to me by the angels!

Soul Development - The Holy Grail

The Quest for the Holy Grail -
J Waugh 1912
The quest to discover the Grail is a journey of soul that mythologically belongs to all cultures and to all times. Whether it is imaged as a cup, a ring, a fountain or even a “fleece,” the powerful significance of the object, the grandest of all spiritual symbols, and the journey to discover its wholeness (holiness) has always been seen as a light and a map that leads a person out of the barrenness, pain and delusion of woundedness into the paradise of unconditional love, joy and creative power.

From the beginning, mystery has surrounded the Legend of the Holy Grail. We feel as we read that the words used are intended to convey a deeper meaning than appears on the face of it. The romance is more than a romance. It is also a secret written in cipher. Its mysticism is as evident as its mystery.

Mythology addresses a spiritual journey that each of us is on.

The knights are challenged to seek the grail and upon agreeing to the quest, each one, “entered the forest where he chose where it was darkest and there was no way or path.” We each have our own dark forest, but we choose the entry point and how to make our way out. This is the spiritual journey, making our way out of the dark forest.

As Joseph Campbell, one of the greatest 20th century mystics, points out lucidly:

“Where it seems to be most challenging is where the greatest invitation lies to find deeper or greater power in ourselves. Where power to respond succeeds, there comes a new amplification of life and consciousness.”

Aura Soma, the Holy Grail and my Soul Purpose

Bottle #77 = "The Cup"
I had a professional Aura Soma reading and consultation done in early 2010. The first bottle I chose instinctively, which the consultant said would be my "soul bottle", was Bottle #77. '77 also happens to be my birth year!

Describing the inner path, bottle #77 in Aura Soma is a clear/magenta bottle. Clear reflects all colors of the rainbow, and magenta combines violet and red. #77 is a Master number indicating profound insights and revelations. In Aura Soma #77 is called "The Cup" and is associated with the Holy Grail.

The main theme of #77 is The Power of Light becomes the Power of Life. The energies of 77 are associated with carrying Christ Consciousness, of being in harmony with cosmic laws and the divine plan and accessing Love from Above.

Bottle #85 = "Titania"
Interestingly, my second most significant bottle is #85. #85 is turquoise/clear. Bottle #85 is called Titania, Queen of the Fairies, with a main theme of new age communication. How perfect (and accurate) is that.

Violet and blue lupines are the flower to inspire creativity and represent imagination. The vibrant violet, magenta and blue blossoms correlate with the third eye and crown chakra.

Violet is associated with self-knowledge, divine connection, and spiritual wellness. It enhances creativity, wisdom, and inspiration. It’s the color of royalty.

Magenta, a color between red, pink and purple is associated with higher knowledge and a transpersonal soul purpose.

Happy Valentine's Day - Love Is All You Need

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! May you always feel loved and may you know that you're never alone. The Light and the angels are with you always. You are so loved, cherished and important! ♥

Valentine's Day Heart Meditation

Today is the ideal day to begin with a heart/love meditation. Opening our hearts to love and kindness set the scene for a positive outlook all day.

Sit on the floor on a cushion or a folded blanket, back straight, legs crossed, hands folded in your lap or resting on the on thighs with your palms turned up - whatever feels comfortable to you. Alternately, you can sit straight in a chair, hands folded in lap or on thighs palms turned up.

Place a lit candle and some flowers on a table in front of you and burn incense if you like. For a heart meditation, it is nice to include a crystal on your meditation table. Choose one with a soft, calming energy, such as Rose Quartz.

Recite an invocation for peace between all countries:
"May peace reign over all earth's lands
As we join together hands.
May our hearts light up with love
Inspired by caring from above."
Now, close your eyes and quietly begin breathing evenly in and out. Breathe in counting 1, 2; breathe out counting 3, 4; repeat and continue for a minute or two.

Now, for a minute just sit and quietly enjoy the harmony your steady breathing brings.

Then, visualize your inner shining heart expanding carrying loving, caring feelings to include your loved ones, community, country, world family - expanding throughout the universe without limit. Hold these thoughts and enjoy the feeling of energization and upliftment they bring into your body-mind.

Finish your meditation with a deep breath in and out and the firm resolve to put this kind, caring attitude into action.

Errare humanum est

Jean-Paul Sartre, a French existentialist philosopher (1905-1980) once famously said that "hell is other people" (l'enfer, c'est les autres). I think this is true when we judge from, and react from, the Ego mind.

The Self understands the bigger picture, and is safe in the knowledge that it is always loved. Many people are not aware of this dimension within themselves, and habitually criticize and judge others. This is of course the other side of the coin in caring about how other people see them, and letting other people's opinions, beliefs and criteria define their identity.

In this way, we can be hell for other people, when we project unkind, unloving, judgemental thoughts and words at them.

This does not mean we cannot evaluate, and discern what is right and wrong for us when confronted with others' behaviour. Of course, we can say "using kind words is right for me" and act that way. We will soon attract others who have the same preferances.

The world is a well-stocked kitchen. You can find anything to eat here, from simple sandwiches, to burgers, quiche, french fries, spaghetti, sushi, to duck a l'orange and coq au vin. Everybody can choose what they like. It's really only important what you like. If you like french fries, and somebody else likes coq au vin, it doesn't make sense to begrudge them their meal or even attempt to ban it, because you happen not to enjoy it.

You are a divine expression, and so is your brother or sister. It is your job to take care of your own joy, nobody else's. You will find that a huge burden falls away when you stop attempting to police the world. You don't want to be told what to do, so act in the way you want to be treated.

In as much as we can be hell for other people, we can be their heaven.

See the divine in everyone. Errare humanum est, it is human to make errors/mistakes. Errors are just a temporary clouding or a deviation from the eternal inner light within every person. To see somebody as less than this does not feel good. Our higher self knows that in this moment we are not seeing clearly, we are not seeing the truth of the other person.

The same occurs when we do not feel seen, or when we are judgemental, critical or harsh towards ourselves.

You can only love somebody into alignment with joy, with their authentic self.
Everything you do is for the purpose of the joy that it is giving you. And so, when you don't see something through, it means that it stopped producing the joy that you were hoping to receive. Of course, it is always better if you have anticipated something and you've stayed lined up with it. If you're lined up with it, then it's joy when you're thinking about it even before you start, and it's joyful as you start, and it's intoxicating as you're going, and it's fulfilling as you do it, and it's satisfying as you finish it and you're in alignment the whole way on that. ~Abraham-Hicks

A Gift from the Angels: Telepathy

♥ May your inner light shine brightly today, and all the days to come. ♥

Telepathy
Well, I have known what people are thinking (about) quite a lot but I thought most people did. It was only after a few shocked expressions or questionning faces that I realized that the person hadn't actually talked out loud, and that I wasn't just "quick at responding" as I initially thought.

But lately, my telepathy has taken on a new dimension. I know what people are thinking, and what they are feeling, all the time. This really helps my compassion because I can understand and follow their reasoning process even though I may completely disagree with it.

I "know" why people arrive at the conclusions they do, and why they say certain things, and act a certain way. This is sometimes frustrating, because so  many people (re-)act from their fears, memories, conditionings rather than from a place of reflection; of authenticity.

When you are thinking and behaving like this, you are not only hurting others, but you are hurting yourself and that is quite painful to watch, especially when someone is close to you and you care for their well-being. Sometimes I find myself saying something in these situations based on my innate knowledge of the thought processes involved (on both sides). Sometimes, the information is heard and sometimes it is misinterpreted based on conditioned beliefs a person is not yet ready to let go.

I sometimes feel overwhelmed by this gift from the angels but I accept it, gratefully, and will learn to deal with it so that it can benefit and inspire people, and bring everyone closer together.

The angels say: "Understanding is the key."

3rd February 2011 - "Hoppy" New Year

2011 - The Year of the Metal Rabbit

Happy New Year of the Rabbit. This will be the year in which we will learn through relationships.

The rabbit is part of the Eastern (Chinese) Zodiac and is fourth in line, between the tiger and dragon. While the Year of the Tiger, which we're just coming out of, was full of raw power and facilitated professional success, this year will focus on people and relationships. Last year (2010) was extremely busy and successful for me professionally - I  published 2 books and wrote an MA dissertation in Literature which was awarded a Distinction - but towards the end of it, I felt thoroughly exhausted.

This year will bring in a milder, more peaceful and personally focussed energy. So, you can relax a bit. We will have time for enjoyment and money should come in a bit more easily. Diplomacy is a rabbit trait so let's hope we'll see some repair in the international world relationships.

In Chinese philosophy, there are 12 animal "energies": Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. They combine with one of 5 elements: Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth. These cycles complete every 60 (12 x 5) years. For example, I was born in 1977, a Fire Snake year.

2011 is the Year of the Metal Rabbit. The metal element adds an energy of resilience and inner strength to the focus this year. The Rabbit is a symbol of beauty, mercy and peace; it is sensitive and gentle. Among the 12 animals, according to Chinese astrology, people born in the year of the rabbit are the most sensitive. The energy this year will be focussing on inner development via the emotions.

The Western counterpart to the Rabbit sign is Pisces.

Family is always priority number one for people born in rabbit years. An example here is the famous Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. They both were born in the year of rabbit, and as one can clearly see they care a lot about their family. Other famous rabbit people include:
  • Johnny Depp
  • Drew Barrymore
  • Jane Seymour
  • Kate Winslet
  • Tina Turner
  • Whitney Houston
  • Albert Einstein
  • Frank Sinatra
  • Elle Macpherson

2.2.11 - New Moon "Law of Attraction" Meditation

It is a new moon today. This is a good time to meditate on the new coming into your life.

Of course you can meditate at any time, but the day of a new moon is the perfect time to meditate on new projects and other things that are in the beginning stage. It is a time of creative energy, so the thoughts you bring into your meditation will be powerfully added to the fertile energy at this time.

Throughout the ages a new moon has always been a time of freshness and beginnings.Sowing seeds for crops at this time can produce a greater harvest when certain rules are followed. The same applies to your thoughts.

Like the season of spring, it is the time to sow seeds for proper growth. Clarity of thoughts, goals and vision is vital. You can ask Archangel Gabriel to help with this. The clearer your thoughts and intention the more successful you will be in harvesting your desired outcome. So, before meditating it is good to spend time (with pen and paper if necessary), working out the specifics of exactly what you wish to achieve and what energies, feelings, relationships you want to work with or bring into your life.

Always phrase your thoughts in the positive. The universe hears you exactly. If you say "I never have enough money" or "I never have good relationships" the universe will agree with you. The Law of Attraction is always at work and always fair. You attract more of whatever you focus on.

Always see your wish as reality, rather than focussing on situations you seek to escape from. Use positive language. Once you have the clarity and specifics of what you want, you can sow the seeds by meditating on your vision and planting them in creative energies that will lead to success.

Your meditation space can be any clear, peaceful space where you can go inside yourself deeply and free of disturbance. A place of sanctuary and clarity for you. Ensure the area is clean and clear itself, and ideally that you are clean too. A good space internally and externally will bring you the best results. You can prepare your meditation space with incense (scent), gentle music (ears) and candles (vision) if you like.

Once your meditation space is set and ready get into a comfortable seated position, and close your eyes. Then begin breathing, if you are just beginning then draw 10 deep breaths, if you have done so for longer then maybe five to ten minutes or longer as you feel is right. Doing this breathing will aid you to go into a deeper meditation, whilst also building up energy to plant your thoughts more effectively. As you breathe focus your mind on your solar plexus, the seat of your will and an excellent location to store energy.

Now take yourself deeper and store the energy you generate at your solar plexus. Allow your mind to drift, and feel yourself sink deep, deep down as if moving through a warm, comfortable ocean. Totally safe, totally at peace. Float down to where it is dark and there is little light. Now down into the realm of pure potential.

Once you are as deep as you feel is right for you, bring to mind the object of your focus. Hold your vision firmly in your mind. Experience it. Feel it, see it, touch it, taste it, hear it. When you feel ready, release your vision and hand it over to the angels and the Eternal Light (God) inside and beyond everyone and everything.

Say: "In your wisdom, something equal or greater than this." Feel that it is done.

Now you can slowly float upwards and come out of your meditation. To end your session, give gratitude.

Ecstatic Birth: Change Your Beliefs, Change Your Life

Think you can, think you can't, either way you're right.
- Henry Ford

Most people believe that labor and birth are inherently painful, something to be endured by women and medically managed because it is dangerous for both mother and child. But a belief is just a thought you keep thinking. Pain is always a sign that something is wrong in the body. A normal birth is a natural occurence, and as such has been designed to be "in the flow", a natural process without pain, even a siritual peak event for the mother if she can open herself to the experience with love instead of fear.

See my son Elias's birth story and other positive birth stories for inspiration.

7 cm dilated and smiling - no pain!

Elias, my second son, was born in 2008 at home in water with hypnobirthing and self-relaxation techniques. Hypnobirthing as it was called because self-hypnosis or a deep meditative state with positive affirmations is used to change subconscious negative beliefs around labor and birth started with a doctor's Labor of Love. The hypno-birthing method is based on the work of Grantly Dick-Read, MD, an English obstetrician and author of the highly influential book Childbirth Without Fear, which was first published in 1944.

According to Dr. Dick-Read, the use of self-hypnosis during labor helps laboring women avoid the "Fear-Tension-Pain Syndrome" which makes labor more painful, stressful and difficult than intended by nature. He argued that pain in labor is largely due to tension caused by fear, which in turn increases pain. This vicious circle of fear, tension and pain destroys confidence, relaxation, and self-control during labor. Dr. Dick-Read believed that the syndrome caused blood to flow away from nonessential organs such as the uterus to large muscle groups in the legs. His theory proposed that relaxation achieved through self-hypnosis would prevent this undesirable, obstructive physiological process.

The process of hypno-birthing is based on the power of (auto-)suggestion. The laboring woman uses positive affirmations, suggestions, and visualizations to relax her body, guide her thoughts, and control her breathing. She can either do this herself (self-hypnosis) or receive assistance from a qualified hypnotherapist. Sometimes women work with a certified hypnotherapist to learn self-hypnosis.

A popular method is to frequently play a tape of verbal affirmations that assist in entering a calm state of self-hypnosis. Alternatively, visualizations may be used (for example, picturing the cervix as a flower opening its petals) with the aim of imagining the process of birth in positive terms, and thus achieve relaxation.

Hypnosis is not only used to assist with labor and the birth process but also for pregnancy complications such as morning sickness, backaches, insomnia, and fatigue.

In short, what exactly are the benefits of using hypnobirthing?

Hypnosis has been shown to have the following benefits:
  • Eliminates fear before, during, and after birth
  • Reduces the need for anesthesia
  • Eliminates or reduces fatigue during labor
  • May shorten the first stage of labor by several hours
  • Assists in the bonding process between parents and infant
  • Facilitates a swift and easy postnatal recovery
  • Babies born using hypno-birthing tend to be better adjusted and more alert due to being born drug free, this in turn facilitates a successful nursing relationship
  • Birthing is returned to the beautiful experience that nature intended - very calm, relaxing, and peaceful.

Another important question is have the benefits been proven scientifically?

Several scientific studies have been carried out on the use of hypnosis for pregnancy and labor:

A study done at the University of Hawaii investigated the use of hypnosis to turn babies from breech to vertex presentation (bottom down to head down). In a group of 100 women with breech presentation at 37 to 40 weeks, there was an 81% success rate with hypnosis compared to only 48% in the control group. (1)

In a Wisconsin study, the benefits of hypnotic analgesia used in combination with childbirth education were studied in 60 first time mothers. The women were divided into high and low hypnotic susceptibility groups before receiving six sessions of childbirth education and skill mastery using an ischemic pain task. Half of the women in each group received a hypnotic induction at the beginning of each session; the remaining women (the control subjects) were taught relaxation and breathing exercises typically used in childbirth education. Both hypnotized women and highly susceptible unhypnotized women reported reduced pain during the pain task. Hypnotically prepared women had shorter first-stage labors, less medication, infants with higher Apgar scores, and were more likely to have spontaneous deliveries than the control group. Highly susceptible, hypnotically treated women had lower depression scores after birth than women in the other three groups. The study authors suggested that repeated skill mastery (practice at the pain task) increased the effectiveness of hypnosis in their study. (2)
